Kendrion (Villingen) Industrial Drive Systems designed the Servo Line series of spring-applied brakes for ideal integration in servo motors. They suit a variety of industrial applications and field such as automation and robotics, packaging and materials handling, and renewable energy plants. 

Electrically released 

Thanks to the brake design, the components are electrically released and act a holding brakes with an emergency stop function. In fact, due to electromagnetism, the brakes engage when unpowered and release when DC voltage is applied. 
They are built into the motor housing, usually mounted to the A-face or B-face end shield inside.

They can operate in a temperature range from -15°C to +120°C.
