Softing Industrial Automation has released version 2.10 of its plantPerfect Monitor software for monitoring PROFIBUS and PROFINET networks. The web-based application consolidates device inventories, status information, diagnostics and network statistics in a central view using data collected by Softing smartLink gateway components. A new notification function enables maintenance personnel to receive network event messages via email or Microsoft Teams. The software also includes an enhanced event list that records previous status changes, helping users trace network events and investigate faults more efficiently.
Extended documentation and export functions
For PROFINET installations, version 2.10 introduces support for GSDML files, allowing more detailed diagnostic information to be displayed. Users can assign custom names to devices, networks and servers to simplify identification within larger installations. The release also adds an i3X-compatible REST API that enables asset and network data from plantPerfect Monitor to be integrated into external applications. In addition, asset inventories can be exported to Microsoft Excel for reporting, documentation or further analysis. The monitoring system operates together with Softing's smartLink hardware. The smartLink HW-DP gateway collects data from PROFIBUS networks, while smartLink HW-PN performs the same function for PROFINET environments. Data is transferred to plantPerfect Monitor via MQTT. Operation of the software requires the appropriate smartLink gateway components.
