To cope with the changing requirements and growing amount of data, industrial communications need to be constantly improved and become even more high-speed and reliable. Moving forward from conventional industrial Ethernet and switching to Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) is paramount to evolve from simple manufacturing enterprises to smart, connected Industries 4.0. Among the benefits of adopting TSN technologies there are optimized performance, improved product quality and, ultimately, enhanced efficiency.

TSN and industrial applications

For this reason, the CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) has launched a four-part video series to present a comprehensive overview of the important role of TSN technologies in automation.
The seminar is hosted by John Browett, General Manager at CLPA Europe. After a first introductory video, the following three separate, yet complementary parts will sketch the current state of the art of TSN, explain why it is crucial for automation and innovation, and lastly showcase CC-Link’s role in this digital transformation, focusing on CC-Link IE TSN.

The CC-Link IE TSN open technology allows the combination of gigabit bandwidth with TSN, future-proofing thus industrial applications.
