The industrial group receives this coveted innovation prize in recognition of its platform for highly integrated actuators. An independent jury chaired by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Holger Hanselka, President of the Fraunhofer Society, selected the winner from among three nominated companies. The award was presented by Dorothee Bär, Federal Minister for Research, Technology and Space, during the official opening of HANNOVER MESSE on April 19, 2026, in the presence of Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
More and more mobile robots are finding their way into industry. According to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), a total of 200,000 service robots were sold worldwide in 2024. 51% of this were robots for transport and logistics. Wherever human interaction, variable processes or frequent changes of location are required, humanoid robots are seen as a promising technology. In real life, however, their use often fails due to high investment costs and complex integration.
An independent jury comprising top-class experts from political and business communities, research, and the media, chaired by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Holger Hanselka, President of the Fraunhofer Society, has nominated three companies selected from the numerous submissions for the HERMES AWARD. The winner will be announced at the official opening ceremony of HANNOVER MESSE on April 19, 2026. The Federal Minister of Research, Technology and Space, Dorothee Bär, will present the award.

The Essen-based company Greenflash, in collaboration with STABL Energy, has implemented an intelligent energy system for their joint customer, the duo Giga Coating and System Trailers in the Emsland region.
