Motive offers its brake motors with an integrated rectifier, TA version, which offers the following innovations: double semi-wave technology, special vibration proof 6 Ampere relays, electric arcs ultra resistant contacts in silver alloy, relays system instead of normal mosfets system, thus more resistant against tension peaks, even if impulsive, as well as an in-built current reading system which controls the current sinusoid and the relay commutation time.
The rectifier is normally the "brain" and the fragile point of any DC brake motor. It is stronger against disturbs coming from power line, much stronger than what required by European EMC rules for industrial environment, more resistant against vibrations and faster. With the additional TA version, 2 further advantages are now offered: A braking speed never seen before, under 0.05 seconds. Thanks to the TA rectifier, all the advantages instrength and durability of DC brakes are combined to the rapidity of an AC brake. Before TA rectifiers, in presence of loads with high inertia, such as lifted weights, the load could move the motor shaft even after turning off the power, and make it act as a generator that powered the rectifier and inhibited the action of the brake, slowing down its action. Usually, in these cases, the installer should separate the power supply of the rectifier from the motor. Such a solution would be expensive in labour and in cable wires. The TA rectifier excludes this problem with no need for a separate power supply motor-rectifier.
