Kabelschlepp introduced glide shoes for its plastic UNIFLEX Advanced 1555 and the steel cable carrier S/SX 0650. These glide shoes are made of a highly abrasion resistant plastic material and help the cable carriers to bridge long unsupported travels. The glide shoes also reduce friction forces and are equipped with wear indicators. This results in less wear due to friction, a more economical form of maintenance and in shorter down times. For steel as well as plastic cable carriers the service life is being extended. It are only the glide shoes that need to be replaced and the chain itself is no longer subject to wear. The cost to replace those glide shoes is about 10% of the replacement cost of an entire cable carrier. Furthermore these glide shoes improve productivity as well.
