SEW-EURODRIVE is expanding its DRC motor portfolio to include the new sizes DRC3 and DRC4. The new performance classes 3 and 4 kW for universal electronic motors provide efficient and modular solutions for complete conveyor systems using mechatronic drives from the MOVIGEAR/DRC series. These will meet any demands up to 4 kW continuous power, from the simple movement of materials to complex positioning. In line with the rest of the series, these two new sizes can also handle brief overloads of up to 190 percent (DRC4) and 250 percent (DRC3). This allows drive solutions to be dimensioned to satisfy specific requirements and conserve energy even in dynamic applications. The motor series can be used for applications requiring decentralized, motor-integrated electronics for different control and networking options. In this context, the motor series can be combined with SEW gear units from the 7 series and helical-bevel gear units in sizes K..19 and K..29. This motor series is typically used in horizontal and vertical conveyer systems and for decentralized positioning applications. The motors' pronounced overload behavior and completely enclosed, fan-free design are key features. The motors will be available in all connection variants - DBC (Direct Binary Communication), DAC (Direct AS-Interface Communication), DSC (Direct SBus Communication) and SNI (Single Line Network Installation) - from the first quarter of 2014.
