SEW-EURODRIVE added the MOVI4R-U frequency inverter to its drive electronics portfolio. The supplier has focused on the necessary and essential functions of an inverter, that is to say simple speed control for asynchronous motors, supported by a straightforward and intuitive operating concept. Protection class IP54 also enables inverters to be installed outside a switch cabinet, for example close to the conveyor belts they are controlling. The new series of products covers the power range from 0.25 kW to 1.1 kW (3x AC 400 V) or 0.25 kW to 0.55 kW (1/3x AC 230 V).
The operating concept, which is based on a control knob - a combination of rotary switch and pushbutton - covers startup, setpoint selection and operating status, including warnings. No external computer software is needed for operation and the focus is quite clearly on simplicity. The control knob is used to set all equipment parameters via just two menu levels. The colored status LED indicates the status of the device and provides prompt information about the cause of any fault that occurs. An operating card supplied with the device enables users to perform startup and troubleshooting with no outside help or additional product documentation.
