Offering an alternative to pneumatic cylinders, RK Rose+Krieger’s LZ 70 PL/FL electric cylinders feature a 100 % duty cycle. Equally suitable for simple adjustment tasks and high-precision positioning, they come with a choice of ball screw or ACME screw. The PowerLine version, LZ 70 PL, handles high compressive/tensile forces up to 5000 N with a top speed of 13 mm/s. The FastLine version, LZ 70 FL, moves lighter loads up to 1500 N with a current top speed of 500 mm/s. Using a suitable adapter, the cylinders can be operated with existing 3-phase or servo motors. Furthermore, the motor configuration is flexible, depending on the available space. The heavy duty cylinders can be supplied with IP 65 protection rating, special stroke lengths, external magnetic switches or an angular 3-phase motor with fixing boss. A stop damper option allows the linear cylinders to be operated like pneumatic cylinders. The company can also supply complete systems comprising linear cylinder, drive train and controller, with IP 54 protection rating. Where a high-end product is required, recirculating-ball spindle, absolute encoder and a high-performance motor can be chosen. The version with ACME screw and 3-phase motor offers the more economical alternative. Coverable slots on both sides of the linear cylinders provide flexibility for the mounting of attachments – alternatively via slot stones or trunnions. Fork joints are also available for covered securing of magnetic switches for precise position determination. The magnets themselves are integrated in the cylinder as standard. The service life of the energy-efficient heavy duty cylinders is currently at least a million double strokes (500 mm stroke). The aim is to achieve 10 million double strokes or 10,000 kilometres with 500 mm stroke, or in excess of 14,000 service hours.
