Advantech announces the release of the MIC-715-OX - an innovative, ruggedised edge AI system for applications in harsh environments. Based on the NVIDIA® Jetson Orin™ NX system-on-module, this solution features an IP67 rating for water and dust, lockable connectors for vibration tolerance, a machine ignition protection system, built-in PoE and GMSL2 video interface support. Heavy industry often involves costly 24/7 operations in harsh environments that can be dangerous for workers. AI-enabled autonomous equipment offers an opportunity to improve this situation by increasing the efficiency, accuracy and safety of these industries. Advantech's MIC-715-OX ruggedised edge AI system is designed with these needs and in-vehicle AI applications in mind.

Operating in wide temperature range

Advantech’s MIC-715-OX is powered by the NVIDIA® Jetson Orin™ NX module with AI performance of up to 100 TOPS. It leverages M12 connectors, supports operation in broad temperature ranges (-25 ~ 60 °C; 77 ~ 140 °F), and offers an IP67 rating. Similarly, all of MIC-715-OX’s I/O are lockable, providing advanced vibration resistance. MIC-715-OX supports cameras via an integrated PoE port and will soon support up to 6 x Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link 2 (GMSL2) cameras. This combination of features makes MIC-715-OX uniquely suitable for applications in harsh environments.

Advantech's MIC-715-OX uses a protective ignition mechanism for use in heavy industrial vehicles, reducing engine stalling and ensuring system operation under unstable input voltage conditions. Users can also manually adjust the ignition time of this solution via connected machines. As a member of the MIC-AI series, MIC-715-OX offers flexible I/O, diverse peripherals, excellent durability and Board Support Package (BSP) capabilities. MIC-715-OX is also capable of supporting Wi-Fi, 4G/LTE and 5G simultaneously.
