Offering high performance properties, Master Bond MasterSil 153 is often used in a variety of bonding and sealing applications involving optical, electrical, aerospace and medical devices. As an addition cured system, it does not require air for complete cross-linking. It can be cured over wide surface areas as well. The two component silicone features easy handling with a one to one mix ratio by weight and its paste consistency allows for precise application. It has a low exotherm and long working life of 5 to 7h at room temperature. The translucent silicone is a self priming system, which enhances its bonding abilities to a wide variety of similar and dissimilar substrates, including most metals, plastics, glass, ceramic and cured silicone rubber. It is also serviceable over the -54 to over 204°C. Capable of withstanding severe thermal cycling as well as vibration and mechanical shock, the silicone has a softer durometer of 20-35 Shore A hardness that improves its repairability. This formulation offers high electrical insulation capabilities, high water resistance and very low shrinkage upon cure. Its shelf life is 6 months, when stored in its original container.
