The PCD45x1 series controller chips from Nippon Pulse are programmable pulse generators equipped with an excitation sequence generator, enabling them to drive two-phase stepper motors. They allow multi-axial control systems to be easily configured. The PCD4541 model controls four axes, the PCD4521 model two axes, and the PCD4511 model one axis. They all feature a maximum output rate of 400Kpps, linear and s-curve acceleration/deceleration, a built-in 2-phase stepper motor excitation sequence circuit and a simultaneous start/stop function. Their built-in sequence logic for both half and full-step modes, enables the output of CW/CCW pulses directly to drive chips.
