Delta Electronics Press Conference: updates on the DIAStudio

At this year’s SPS, Delta Electronics officially launched its new integrated software, the DIAStudio Smart Machine Suite. Patrik Hug, Senior Director of Industrial Automation for Delta EMEA gave us updates about this software designed to save time and simplify space. He presented a wide choice of advanced automation products as well. During the press conference, he stated: “The time you lose in selecting a product is lost time in more efficiency in engineering time.” The DIAStudio offers an all-in-one platform for selecting models, programming (IEC61131-3 standard), quantitative parameter setting, machine turning and setting up PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, and AC motor drives to allow effective, time-efficient machinery systems development. All these tasks can be executed seamlessly. Patrik Hug added: “The great thing about the DIAStudio software is that it puts detailed technical information on Delta products right at the engineer’s fingertips and allows them to use it seamlessly in the engineering process. You can literally click together the desired Delta products and their parameters, then send all that data on to your CAD software.”

The DIAStudio Smart Machine Suite comprises three DIAStudio tools. The DIASelector is an application for PCs and Android mobile devices that allows the user to select specific components of the machine system. Enhanced with Codesys, the DIADesigner picks up after few intermediate steps in the engineering process have been completed. Last, the DIAScreen then lets users share tags between PLCs and HMIs or text panels to complete the operation interface. In addition to the DIAStudio, Delta showed its industrial power supplies and automation products, such as the new DMV3000G-series machine vision system. This solution supports up to two cameras with GigE interfaces for precise color, shape, position inspection, quality assurance, and other critical tasks for smart equipment and production lines. Furthermore, were showcased the compact M300-series vector control drives, the multi-pump control & drive solution and the machining center solution for woodworking.
