The new ifm O6D series photoelectric distance sensors use time-of-flight technology to enable robust and reliable detection of objects at distances of up to three metres.
Two-button or IO-link teaching
Either a reflectance value or the distance value can be output. The user can choose between three operating modes: Fine, Standard, Fast. The HEG (High Excess Gain) feature ensures highly reliable detection even on jet-black or reflective surfaces. Configuration and set-up are carried out either via the two teach buttons on the device or via IO-Link. An M8 socket is provided for the electrical connection.
The O6D is enclosed in a small rectangular housing, making it very easy to integrate into the application. Since the maximum range is three metres, the sensor can be installed at a corresponding distance from the application. The O6D is typically used in conveyor technology, assembly automation and presence verification. Due to its large operating distance, the distance sensor is also well suited for use in welding applications, as it can be installed in such a way that it is protected from soiling.
