Alliance Sensors Group introduces its PG Series LVDT linear position sensors. Features built into the design of the PG Series LVDTs include non-detachable core connection/operating rod, installation specifications (such as standard body clamps, flange mounts, ball couplings and rod eye ends) two dual-contact shaft seals that prevent contaminants from entering the LVDT bore, no connector thanks to a sensor with screw terminals that accept 24-14 AWG wires, continuous sensor operation up to 350 degrees F (175 C), and finally, built-in over-temperature indication and two-year warranty.

Rugged design ensured by a large diameter, thick-walled enclosure

LVDT sensors feature a versatile mounting configuration and a large diameter, thick-walled housing. The control rod is 3/8 inch in diameter and contains the core so it cannot vibrate or come loose. This rod is available with a rigid or ball coupling to accommodate installations where the mounting mechanism on steam valves has a slight misalignment. The materials used and the manufacturing processes can be certified for low radiation environments such as boiling water nuclear power plants. Five full scale ranges from 0 to 3 to 0 to 15 inches (75 to 380 mm) are offered. Models include the PGHD Heavy Duty Series LVDT with a 1-1/16-inch diameter body and the PGSD Super Duty Series LVDT with a 1-5/16-inch diameter body.
