Aucotec introduces its Advanced Typical Manager aimed at providing more clarity and consistency in variant management. With the new module of software platform Engineering Base (EB), the company confronts the rapidly growing complexity with which designers are faced today in the simply insurmountable mountains of variants and options when configuring machines and plants. The new Typical Manager makes use of functional engineering in order to fully exploit the undoubted savings potential in configuring. The mechatronic modules to be configured no longer consist of individual motors or sensors, but consist instead of complete functions such as gripping or heating. Thus the configuration is located at a level higher than sheet level and is clearer and more precise as a result.
