The Siemens Drive Technologies Division opened a new Simogear in Mauldin, South Carolina. The facility consists of 45,600 square feet of office and assembly space for its newly released product family of gear motors, Simogear.
"It is great to have world-class companies such as Siemens expand its operations in South Carolina. It is companies like this that help promote the economic development in our state and we hope to continue to bring more manufacturing facilities like these to South Carolina," says George Patrick III, Deputy Secretary of Commerce of South Carolina.
The new facility puts Siemens closer to the machine builders and manufacturers in the Southeastern United States. "Our customers asked for short delivery times and we responded by opening this facility. Simogear was specifically designed for the U.S. market so it is important that we are close to our customers," explains Doug Keith, President of Siemens Drive Technologies Division, North America.
