Data Translation announced the release of LV-Link software drivers for 32- and 64-bit graphical programming environment LabVIEW. A library of virtual instruments (VIs) that provide quick and easy access to the company’s USB modules and PCI boards in LabVIEW, it also includes a comprehensive, updated help and many additional example programs to make application development even easier. The virtual instruments integrate all the subsystems and features provided by the USB and PCI measurement hardware, such as analog I/O, digital I/O, counter/timers, quadrature decoders, and streaming data to disk at full speed. The use of polymorphic VIs, which combine the functionality of different virtual instruments, allow a significant reduction in the number of VIs within a LabVIEW. The software drivers are based on the DT-Open Layers .NET class library and are compatible with NI virtual instruments. They support LabVIEW 8.5.1 or higher, and LabVIEW 2009 or higher. Version 2.0 is available for users of earlier LabVIEW releases. Both versions are provided free to users of the company’s data acquisition hardware.
