Lika Electronic released optical kit encoders. These are compact, light, and precise, and their mechanical and electrical characteristics can be customized to fit individual needs. Frameless, flat, and bearingless, they are also reduced in size and weight to be directly integrated into high performance and space critical applications such as robotics. They have a through hollow shaft for installation in robot joints and through hollow shaft motors (such as in direct drive torque motors) and fit standard motor sizes with shaft diameters ranging from 6 mm to 45 mm.

The optical kit encoders can operate without the need of calibration in temperature ranges from -40°C to +100°C

The external diameter is between 25 mm and 80 mm. The optical kit encoders provide position feedback via SSI, BiSS, and RS-485 interfaces. Singleturn resolution is up to 23 bits, multiturn resolution is up to 40 bits. Their accuracy is in the range ±0.010°. An additional incremental track can provide up to 1,024 Sine/Cosine 1Vpp signals for speed feedback and interpolation.
