Among Lika Electronic’s latest innovations, SMAR1 is one that extends Lika’s portfolio of modular encoders. Compact, flat, light, bearingless, accurate, Lika’s modular encoders can be customized to fit special applications. SMAR1 is an off-axis absolute singleturn modular encoder to be paired with an MRA magnetic ring for integration into robotic joints, hollow shaft motors, brushless and servo motors, OEM equipment. With an overall thickness of the measuring system of 9 mm, SMAR1 is designed in an open PCB (reading head) and an ultra-flat ring with up to 18 mm through bore (the ring’s diameter is 34 mm).

Delivered in both incremental and absolute versions

The incremental version provides Push-Pull and Line Driver level AB0/AB0 signals with additional UVW/UVW communication signals (1 to 16 pole pairs) for brushless motor feedback. The resolution is in the range from 1 to 65,536 PPR. The absolute version is available in three serial interfaces: SSI, BISS C-mode, and SPI. Its resolution ranges between 15 and 19 bits. Last, it provides additional AB0/AB0 incremental signals (TTL/RS-422 Line Driver signal level) for speed control.
