FAULHABER has further extended its comprehensive portfolio of control solutions by introducing the Motion Controller series MC 3002 for miniature drives in the lower power range. The highly compact electronics can be used for the operation of DC-Micromotors as well as for both brushless and linear DC-Servomotors. The series also includes drives with absolute encoders and offers further flexibility and efficiency when it comes to configuration. Due to the high resolution of the encoder, brushless DC-Servomotors featuring absolute encoders combine the benefit of more effective commutation with high-precision control even at very low speeds. The absolute angle information is available right from power-on, an important feature for many positioning applications. The operating mode of the controller is freely selectable and can be reconfigured from brushless 2-pole drives to brushless 4-pole drives, using the updated Motion Manager Software 4.7. Control can be either by means of an RS 232 or a CAN interface. Optimized current measurement and direct connection to motors with flex board complete the series.
